I was RIDDLED with Spyware (Home Anti-virus 2010 being the main culprit) and eventually got my computer in working state again by doing the following: 1. Put the spare TEST hard drive in your PC... * turn on, * look for smoke... I think the mobo is about 4 years old. Lets you log in and says loading system settings then straight to loggin off windows and back to the login screen Sound like you may not have data to worry about. check over here
If this does not solve the problem then I think you are looking at a reinstall. Things I have done to try to recovery: 1. It's a temporary solution, but it works and you can at least use your computer until you fix it..... I renamed it and copied a new one in, anyway. However, seems like virus deleted several files from SYSTEM32 directory.
