I have no idea what this is, but i've never used the media player that I know of. I have never heard of that problem with HJT.Other than that, I think Penmore is quite on the right track. You may also... Can only do things in Safe Mode with Networking.

If there is no log file there the delete Hijackthis.exe then try downloading HijackThis again, unzip it to the folder, run and try posting a new log here. I tried downloading the HJT file again, unzipping and running it again with the same results. They worked fine in safe mode, but give the image error whenever clicked on in normal mode.
